La Escuela Latinoamericana de Postgrado (ELP) del Centro de Estudios Latinoamericanos de Educación Inclusiva (CELEI) de Chile, junto a la Escuela de Educación Diferencial de la Universidad Bernardo O´Higgins (UBO) y su programa de Magíster en Educación Diferencial, a través de su convenio de cooperación inter-institucional, celebrarán la Conferencia Internacional titulada: «The Postcolonial World Order: National Sovereignty and the Co-optation of Anti-colonialism», a cargo de la Ph.D. Nandita sharma, académica del Departamento de Sociología de la Universidad de Háwai.

III.-Fechas, horarios y plataforma
La conferencia internacional titulada: «The Postcolonial World Order: National Sovereignty and the Co-optation of Anti-colonialism», a cargo de la Ph.D. Nandita sharma, académica del Departamento de Sociología de la Universidad de Háwai, será desarrollada a través de zoom, el día lunes 07 de noviembre de 2022, de 19.00 a 20.30 pm de Chile, Argentina y Brasil / 17.00 a 18.30 pm de Ecuador, Perú, Colombia, México / 16.00 a 17.30 pm de El Salvador y Puerto Rico.
IV.-Sobre la invitada internacional
Nandita Sharma is Professor of Racism, Migration and Transnationalism in the Department of Sociology at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. Her research interests address themes of human migration, migrant labor, nation-state power, racism and nationalism, and processes of identification and self-understanding. Sharma is an activist-scholar whose research is shaped by the social movements she is engaged with, including No Borders movements and those struggling for the commons. Along with numerous journal articles and book chapters, her publications include: Home Rule: National Sovereignty and the Separation of Natives and Migrants (Duke University Press, 2020); Home Economics: Nationalism and the Making of ‘Migrant Workers’ in Canada (University of Toronto Press, 2006); and a special, co-edited issue of the journal Refuge, “No Borders: A Practical Response to State Controls on People’s Migration.» Sharma has held the Benjamin Meaker Distinguished Visiting Professorship at the Institute for Advanced Studies, University of Bristol (UK) and the Hooker Distinguished Visiting Professorship (McMaster University, Canada). She is regularly invited as a guest speaker at scholarly and community fora across the world, including at the Royal College of Art (London, UK), Queen’s University Belfast, the University of Jaffna (Sri Lanka), The New School for Social Research (NYC), New York University, King’s College Law School (London, UK), and the Center for the Study of Sexual Culture at the University of California at Berkeley. Currently, Sharma is one of the organizers for an international conference on Maritime Solidarity: Past and Present to be held at the International Institute of Social History in Amsterdam in September 2023.
